“IT'S JUST ANOTHER RACE IF IT DOESN'T CHANGE YOUR LIFE.” — COACH LLOYD

Lloyd Brown was helping coach a local Master’s swim club in his home town near Tacoma, Washington, in the late 1980s when he learned that several team members were working toward their first Ironman triathlons. Those triathletes planted the seeds of interest in triathlons generally, and Ironman specifically, that would take more than 20 years to fully bloom.

An active Masters swimmer through most of his 20s, Lloyd stepped away from training in his 30s before deciding on a whim to enter a few local half-marathon races in 2010. But his training and racing passion soared later that year after moving to the DC region, where he met Coach T.

Since then Coach Lloyd has completed 8 marathons and 2 Ironman races.

A lifelong swimmer, Lloyd is a member of US Masters Swimming (USMS) and USA Triathlon (USAT). He is a certified USMS Swim Coach, who is passionate about working with triathletes and distance runners.
